The Phelps Memorial Hospital was looking particularly bright last week as inmates from the Eel River Conservation Camp applied a coat of primer to the building’s exterior walls. The repainting of the hospital began months ago with removal of vegetation and scraping away the old paint and then the weather brought things to a halt. Some crews from ERCC have been sent south to help with the fires in Santa Cruz and elsewhere, but one crew will be available twice a week to complete the project.
