Downtown Medical Group announces the addition of Dr. Michael Quirk DO to their family practice and worker’s compensation campuses.
Until recently, Dr. Quirk had been the Physician and Medical Director at Redwoods Rural Health Center. While there, he introduced weekend clinics for working patients. He also advanced the clinic’s electronic medical records by involving it in the county-wide diabetes initiative (PECSYS) and a new computer-based prescribing program. He helped the local area’s underserved community by introducing a narcotic overdose prevention (narcan) program, and a “medication for the homeless” program, where simple antibiotics and non-narcotic pain-killers are given to homeless patients. He is board certified in both Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, a method of relieving pain by manually adjusting the spinal column and limbs.
Dr. Quirk will start seeing patients May 1 at North Coast Family Clinic located at 2505 Lucas St., Eureka. Appointments can be made at 707-445-3063.
