If you have a friend or family member with a serious brain disorder such as bi-polar, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD or an illness along those lines, please join National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Humboldt support group and realize that you are not alone.
They meet on Monday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. or later if needed at the Fortuna United Methodist Church, Fireplace Room, 922 N. St. (corner of 10th and N) in Fortuna. Please use side door on N St. This is only the meeting place, not an affiliation with the church.
If you have attended a Family-to-Family class, if this is a new experience for you, if you need help and support, they are there for you.
The meeting facilitators are involved with NAMI Humboldt and have been trained as teachers for the Family-to-Family class.
It is free and open for those who reach out.
