Mad River Community Hospital has announced that there is no connection between Mad River Community Hospital’s Pain Center and NECC - a pharmacy that distributed a steroid linked to an outbreak of fungal meningitis.
Due to a recent outbreak of fungal meningitis nationwide, Mad River Community Hospital’s Pain Center has been receiving numerous calls from concerned patients.
A steroid that is injected for chronic pain sufferers produced by NECC, a pharmaceutical compounding facility, has been linked to the fungal meningitis.
The hospital would like to assure its patients that it does not purchase products from NECC. Mad River Community Hospital’s Pain Center only uses brand name products for spinal injections.
