Club dedicates deck to Helen Bushnell

Family, friends and members of the Garberville Civic club gathered Nov. 4 to dedicate a new deck in memory of Helen Bushnell.

Don Bushnell donated the money for the deck in his late wife’s memory, according to a release from the Garberville Civic Club.

“Helen Bushnell was an enthusiastic supporter of the Civic Club and served as president for four terms,” the release stated.

The couple’s daughter, Deborah Bushnell, is active in the club and is serving as president of the California Federation of Women’s Clubs for the Redwood District.

The new deck adds space for club events.
