Scuffle ensues when law enforcement arrives

SANDY FERETTO - REDWOOD TIMES

Two men were put in handcuffs last Tuesday, Aug. 26 after complaints of transients sitting and blocking the corner of the parking lot in front of Ray's Food Place in Garberville. The deputy asked the men to leave the premises, which is posted with a No Loitering sign, but they refused. A Humboldt County sheriff's deputy ended up receiving assistance from Garberville CHP officers when a group of people began to yell at the deputy. The two men were later released.
