Humboldt County will soon have one less airline route, with SkyWest announcing there will no longer be flights to and from Sacramento starting in December, according to officials.
Humboldt County Aviation Division Program Coordinator Emily Jacobs said the airport found out late Friday that the airline would discontinue flights starting Dec. 2. The flights from Crescent City to Sacramento will also stop, she added.
"We're not losing SkyWest entirely, just the Sacramento route, and we'll still be doing the San Francisco route," Jacobs said.
Jacobs said there are two flights a day that currently go to Sacramento.
"We always want diversification," Jacobs said. "The more flights and destinations an airport has, the more affordable and reliable it becomes."
