EUREKA >> The Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods sent six Teen Court youth representatives to the ninth annual California statewide Youth Court Summit at Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park, on the weekend of June 27-29. This conference brought together youth from jurisdictions throughout California and representatives of the court system, educators, and community organizations providing a range of law-related educational and leadership opportunities.

This year the Youth Court Summit included workshops, plenary sessions and presentations focused on hate crimes, bullying, current trends in juvenile law, and best practices for Teen Court programs. The Summit provides a wonderful opportunity for our youth to represent Humboldt County, instilling them with positive skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

Humboldt County Teen Court especially wants to recognize Humboldt Sponsors and the Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Commission for their generous support and financial contributions which helped to make this trip possible.
