Ferndale Police Department: Fortuna resident arrested on suspicion of drug-related charges after traffic stop

On Wednesday at approximately 1423 hours, a Ferndale Police Officer stopped a vehicle driven by 29 year old Fortuna resident Justin Earl Lewis, for no front license plate on the corner of Shaw and 5th Streets. During a search of Lewis' vehicle, the officers discovered approximately two ounces of methamphetamine packaged for sale, approximately 5 grams of cocaine and a variety of prescription pills. Some of prescription pills included Norco, Valium, Methadone and OxyContin. Additionally, officers also located drug paraphernalia, narcotic packaging materials indicative of narcotic sales and an illegal expandable metal baton.

Lewis was arrested for several narcotic charges and a weapons violation. Lewis was booked into the Humboldt County Jail.
