City of Rio Dell selects new city manager

Press release from the City of Rio Dell:

After a competitive and wide ranging search that began in January 2104, the Rio Dell City Council is pleased to announce that effective July 21 Kyle Knopp will assume the City Manager position in Rio Dell due to the retirement of Jim Stretch. Kyle grew up grew up in Eureka, attended local schools and graduated from HSU with a BA in Political Science. He earned his Masters of Public Administration from California State University- Sonoma.

The new City Manager began his public administration career as an Intern for US House of Representatives Congressman Mike Thompson, and then took the position of Administrative Analyst in the Humboldt County Administrative Office. Shortly thereafter, he was hired in the Chief Executive Officer's Department of Mendocino County where he moved up quickly through the ranks to Assistant Chief Executive Officer.

Kyle is highly regarded by his peers and associates and comes with the highest of recommendations. He is described as confident and self-assured, articulate, hardworking, and a quick study with good people skills.

Kyle is very pleased to be returning to Humboldt County to this challenging position in Rio Dell and to the natural beauty of the north coast.
