CHP: Motorcycle accident results in major injury collision this morning

Press release from the California Highway Patrol:

Today at approximately 12:15 a.m., a 2004 Honda MX 250 driven by Anthony Thomas Lovatto, age 25 of Whitethorn, was traveling east on Briceland-Thorn Road, east of Shelter Cove Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Honda collided with a deer. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and sustained major injuries. He was wearing a helmet. The driver was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka.

Alcohol impairment was a factor in this collision.
