Semi-trailer spill shuts Indianola Cutoff-Myrtle Ave. intersection

The intersection of the Indianola Cutoff and Myrtle Avenue is currently closed to all traffic due to the trailer of a semi truck overturning and spilling bags of soil onto the roadway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Matt Harvey.

"The trailer had overturned due the driver not properly securing the trailer to the truck," he said. "The trailer overturned, the bags of soil came off the trailer, but no soil got on the roadway."

Harvey said he does not know when the roads will reopen, but said the trucking company is currently cleaning the spill.

Both northbound and southbound traffic is closed at the intersection as is eastbound and westbound traffic on the Indianola Cutoff.

"We advise motorists to seek an alternative route," Harvey said.
