On Friday, April 4, the Mateel Community Center's Comedy Cabaret will welcome comedian Ellis Rodriguez, who, as one of nine children of immigrant parents from Panama, says he grew up speaking Spanish at home, English at church, and Ebonics in school and has been entertaining anyone who would listen his whole life. All that practice has made him one of the funniest, most energetic comedians on the circuit today.
Opening for Rodriguez will be Jonny Eller, whose humor and positive attitude has gotten him through some rough times growing up in Woodacre, Calif. With his self-deprecating humor, brutally honest delivery, this up and coming comic is seeing his career take off.
Doors open at 8:30 p.m. with comedy at 9 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door. The show is recommended for those 18 and over only. Limited table seating is available with a two-drink minimum. Cocktails, beer, wine, snack foods, desserts, and refreshments will be on hand. For more information about Mateel's Comedy Cabaret call 923-3368 or visit www.mateel.org.
Anyone interested in volunteering at the monthly Mateel Comedy Cabarets should call the Mateel volunteer coordinator, Michele Wood at 923-3368 or email her at volunteers@mateel.
