On Tuesday, Jan. 28 approximately 11:45 p.m., the Humboldt County sheriff’s office received a call from a Bridgeville resident who reported unknown suspects had burglarized his outbuilding in the 1600 block of McClellan Mountain Road, Bridgeville over a two-day period.
The suspects had stolen an Acura sedan and an all-terrain vehicle, along with a recreational vehicle, 26 firearms including rifles, shotguns and handguns, and a large amount of dried marijuana. The victim told the deputy he was reporting the crime because he was concerned due to the large amount of firearms that were stolen. The victim had no idea who may have committed the crime.
The all-terrain vehicle was recovered approximately four miles away from the victim’s residence, and the Acura was located unoccupied on Trusdale Street in Eureka by Eureka Police the same day. However, the recreational vehicle is still outstanding along with the firearms and marijuana. The recreational vehicle is described as white with a brown stripe, California plate 2RKC039.
Anyone with information for the sheriff’s office regarding this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 707-445-7251 or the sheriff’s office crime tip line at 707-268-2539.
