South Fork High School will be well represented

South Fork High School senior Shasta Carr and junior Jerad Sherman have been nominated to represent South Fork High for this year’s NorCal Leadership conference at Chico State later this month.

As ambassadors for Talent Search TRiO - a pre-college program that provides services to help improve the academic strengths and college readiness of students in the 6th through 12th grade - both Shasta and Jerad attended HSU on Feb. 2 to meet their fellow ambassadors from the county’s neighboring schools and prepared for the leadership workshops that they will be participating in later this month at Chico State.

Chosen for their leadership potential, ambassadors assist as mentors for future and concurrent Talent Search students. The conference will provide an opportunity to meet and participate with more than 400 other unique student leaders from schools all over the North Coast (as far away as Redding and San Francisco).

They will be participating in a variety of workshops designed for them to discover and strengthen their leadership skills, as well as, exploring how they can best contribute their own particular style of leadership to the interests of their own community.
