In an ongoing effort to invite more community participation in the Mateel Meal community lunch program, the Mateel Community Center in Redway is excited to start announcing its weekly menus in advance.
This vital program offers a free and delicious hot lunch every Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Mateel Community Center and the menu for this week, January 15-17, will highlight eggs, pancakes, and sausage on Tuesday; spaghetti on Wednesday; and turkey with stuffing on Thursday. These daily menus will also feature salad, fruit, and bread, along with a variety of other dishes conjured up by Mateel Meal chef, Matt Dicks.
While any and all are invited to come and enjoy, the Mateel is hoping to see more families taking advantage of this great resource and, as such, will be creating a family seating area inside the hall. Volunteers are always needed, particularly those interested in making a regular commitment on one or more days each week. The work typically begins at 9 a.m.
