Soggy conditions at the North Coast Section Cross Country meet in Hayward made for slow times last Saturday.
Junior Dustyn Salomon placed the highest of all South Fork runners, placing 26th with a time of 17:18. Senior Ismael Lopez ran 18:15 for 61st place. Junior Andres Alatorre ran 19:30 to place 93rd and senior Devin Hand was 120th with a time of 20:47. The juniors who will return next year gained valuable experience toward their goal of making it to the state meet next season.
Three girls from South Fork also ran. Senior Tristan Jeffers ran 25:44 for 109th place. Senior Tara Gallagher placed 117th with a time of 26:39 and junior Miriam Duron ran 29:03, placing 126th. The girls ran times that showed progress toward their personal goals and were the first female runners to represent South Fork in the sport of cross country in nearly a decade.
