JV boys start season with a win in Mendocino

South Fork’s JV boys opened their basketball season with a 52-25 win on the road over Mendocino Friday. "Everybody got to play and 9 different people scored," said head coach Doug Moody, who otherwise downplayed the victory adding, "Mendocino’s not that strong. We won’t really know how good we are until we play a better team."

Sophomore Cole Moody led the team in scoring with 15, all three-pointers, sophomore Troy Langley had 10, freshman Kevin Vandenack had 6, sophomore Cole Jacinto had 6, Sophomore Danny Savoie had 4, sophomore Eli Kahan had a three pointer and freshmen Garret Wiley and Armando Martinez had a bucket each.

Monday the Cubs played at Laytonville at 5 p.m.(results unavailable at press time) and Tuesday they will travel to Fort Bragg for another 5 p.m. start.
