The Rev. Laurence Cleenewerck will give a public lecture about the soul and the afterlife at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at St. Innocent Orthodox Church, 939 F Street.
Many people, including many Christians, are confused as to what they should believe about the state of death, according to Rev. Cleenewerck. Questions to be discussed in the lecture will include "Do human beings have souls?" "What is the difference between soul and spirit?" and "What is the difference between heaven, paradise and hades?"
Such difficult questions as what to think about "soul sleep," "the intermediate state," and how it is that "Jesus descended into hell" will also be examined, together with the place for a resurrection of the body in Christian theology.
Everyone is welcome to this public lecture. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. For more information please call 677-9294.
