Halloween thrills at the zoo

Sequoia Park Zoo will host the 15th annual Boo at the Zoo festivities on Saturday, Oct. 27 from noon to 4 p.m.

Discover creatures slimy, slithery, creepy and crawly through games, crafts, and animal encounters at this frightfully fun family event. Kids’ activities will include the snake maze, bat trivia and discovery, spider web toss, skull identification and scavenger hunt, slug slime, face painting, and more. Treat the family to cotton candy, pretzels, caramel apples, snacks, and other twisted treats from the special Halloween menu at the café and other food stations located throughout the zoo.

Everyone coming to Boo at the Zoo in costume will get a free prize and can join the costume parade and contest for a chance to win great Halloween-themed prizes.

The animals at the zoo get to celebrate Halloween too, with their very own surprise-stuffed jack-o-lanterns. The white-handed gibbons, spider monkeys, Chacoan peccaries, red pandas, barnyard residents, ravens and cotton-top tamarins will all get to enjoy fun treats at scheduled times during the event.

All games and activities are included with general zoo admission.
