South Fork’s girls’ soccer team wrapped up their season on a positive note beating St. Bernard’s 1-0 at home last Wednesday evening. Senior Megan Garcia scored the Cub goal on a free kick from 20 yards out. South Fork dominated possession, controlling the tempo of the game and creating numerous scoring opportunities.
After a season of ups and downs to be expected with so many young players the Lady Cubs began to get a glimpse of their potential. The team will be sad to see the graduating seniors go. Bedsides Garcia, Brianna Finney, and co-captains Kennedy Burnett, Sammy Marino, and all-conference goalie Kathy Petersen will be graduating in June.
The Lady Cubs finished with a 3-13-2 record, 3-10-1 in league.
