The South Fork girls’ soccer team lost two matches at home last week, bringing their record to 2-14-2 on the season.
The Lady Cubs had an own goal and conceded three more goals before halftime to the Ferndale Wildcats on Wednesday. South Fork managed a better second half, holding Ferndale scoreless and mounting a couple of attacks.
On Friday the Lady Cubs appeared mesmerized by the festivities of Homecoming and lost to Willits 2-1. The usually solid defense was easily penetrated by the Willits attack and South Fork was down 2-0 at the half. Senior Megan Garcia scored the lone South Fork goal on a free kick in the second half.
The Cubs will wrap up their season with a home match against St. Bernard’s on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
