Junior Dustyn Salomon won his fourth race of the season last Tuesday in the final league meet of the season in Fortuna. Salomon bettered his earlier time on the same course by 10 seconds with a time of 17:41.

Ismael Lopez was the next best Cub runner at 8th place with a time of 18:49. Junior newcomers Andres and Cristian Alatorre ran their first league meets for South Fork and both ran a minute faster than their previous times on the course last year. Andres took 12th place at 19:33 and Cristian took 27th place at 20:56. Senior Damian Alatorre came in 34th at 21:26.

Senior Devin Hand ran despite injury and finished in 39th place at 22:10. The team is missing senior David Chadbourne whose season ended when he broke his ankle the weekend prior to the meet. It is hoped that the two newcomers can fill some of the gap left by Chadbourne in the Saturday, Nov. 10 County Championships at Arcata.

South Fork’s girls improved their previous Fortuna course times with senior Tristan Jeffers trimming three minutes off for 20th place at 26:17 and senior Tara Gallagher finishing 24th with a time of 28:10, a minute shorter than her previous time.
