Fortuna - The boys’ varsity was on the road again, this time playing the Fortuna Huskies last Friday night. Fortuna’s tough defense led them to a 50-33 win. The Cub’s were 4 for 9 shooting in the first quarter, but were still down 14-11. Tough defense by the Huskies and cold shooting (1 for 9) on the part of the Cub’s in the second quarter, helped Fortuna jump to a 27-17 halftime lead.

In the third quarter the Cub’s cold shooting continued. They were 1 for 12 from the field. The Cub’s were limited to just 5 points, making the one field goal and 3 free-throws. The Cub’s poor shooting combined with a number of turnovers helped Fortuna take 37- 22 lead after three quarters.

The Cub’s did not give-up. In the fourth quarter the Cub’s played better. They limited their turnovers and shot the ball much better, going 5 for 9 from the field. However, Fortuna was too much for the Cub’s this night. Fortuna beat the Cub’s 50 - 33.

Junior Jared Storre came off the bench to lead the team with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Sophomore Bryan Arbuthnot had another solid game contributing 10 points and 6 rebounds. Former area resident Tyler Moody led the Huskies with 19 points.
