”I’m supporting Jim Wood for state assembly. His quiet but effective leadership is just what we need as California looks to right itself from economic downturn. Jim will take the time to learn how this downturn impacted the entire North Coast and find common sense solutions,” said congressman Huffman.
Huffman was elected to congress in 2012 and much of his district overlaps with assembly district 2.
”I know how hard congressman Huffman works to cover this district and know how effective he was in the assembly,” said Wood. “I’m honored to have his support.”
Jim Wood has been active in the community since opening his family dental practice in Cloverdale over 25 years ago. He served on the Healdsburg planning commission for four years before being elected to the Healdsburg city council in 2006. He served as mayor in 2010.
The 2nd assembly district is one of the largest in California and includes Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino counties, and the northern half of Sonoma County. Due to term limits, current assembly member Wes Chesbro cannot seek re-election.
