Tuesday of last week, KMUD News reported that multiple local residents heard an explosion coming from the Rancho Sequoia area of Alderpoint Road. The sound was reportedly accompanied by a concussive shockwave, smoke plume, and an unidentifiable chemical odor that was detectable for miles.

These reports could not be verified with local law enforcement, but they were corroborated online by www.kymkemp.com, the SoHum awareness group, and various social media users.

The nature of the reported explosion, as well as its exact location, could not be determined. The extent of the damage, if any, is also unknown.
