ROCKO: Fine, all-around nice, gentle boy who has what it takes to be a great companion! He’s about 5 years old, which is a great age: settled, personality well-established so you know who he is, lots of time left for enjoying having his company. He loves to play with a squeaky toy; getting out for walks is another favorite. Mostly, he just wants a human to be his best friend and spend a whole bunch of time with him whether it is active or just hanging out. Shelter life is stressful for him and he is hoping to find his human angel soon!
MARIO: This perky boy is very intelligent and smart! He loves to play fetch. He lives to play and be doing things; comes from being a Border Collie type! Gregarious, irrepressible and only a year old, Mario is ready to find someone who wants to share his or her active life with an active, very smart, affectionate, cute pooch. Come meet him and find out what a great guy he is! This nice boy has been waiting so long to find his forever home; we are amazed by his resilience and patience with shelter life. PRECIOUS: She is a happy, loving, gentle, sweet girl who loves attention and is looking forward to a quiet, loving home where a cozy lap awaits. Precious is pining for her owner who passed away and is eager to find a new human to give her heart to. It would be best if there are no other kitties in her new home. She’s a tortie-brown tabby blend with a longish coat and is about eight years old. She is sure to please.!
The County Shelter is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; it is closed Saturday and Sunday and County holidays and is located at 980 Lycoming Ave., between Airport Road and the Coast Guard Station in McKinleyville.
