The Humboldt County Tax Collector’s office announced on Friday that the auction of tax delinquent properties held that morning resulted in the sale of 28 parcels. The parcels were located in Shelter Cove, Benbow, Stafford, and Eureka. The sale added more than $156,000 to the County coffers.
Before the auction began, 11 parcels with delinquent taxes totaling more than $100,000 were paid and those parcels were withdrawn from the sale.
The main purpose of the auction was to return the properties to tax-paying status.
