The Benbow Women’s Golf Club hosted the Women’s Golf Association Northwestern California Golf Tournament on June 10. There were 39 women golfers registered to play from Baywood, Beau Pre, Eureka, Bigfoot, Redwood Empire and the host club Benbow. A shotgun start at 9 a.m. started the day’s play.
Redwood Empire won the team competition with a score of 286. Team members were: Sue Strahan, Kathy Salizzoni, Collette Johanson, and Jewel Boyd.

5th Low Net: Mardis Fulwider, 74, Benbow
6th Low Net: Betty Partain, 75, Baywood; Donna Hunter, 75, Redwood; Billie Lanier, 75, Bigfoot
Winners of the Accuracy Drive on hole No. 9 were, with a handicap of 0-27: Kathy Salizzoni, Redwood; handicap of 27-41: Ora Swithenbank, Benbow.
