The Healy Center will hold a fundraising sale on Friday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In conjunction with the sale on Saturday we will hold a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon.

Items being sold will include many plants, lots of books, and a variety of yummy desserts prepared by our members.

If you have any books around which you would like to donate fro the sale, please bring them by the Center before May 15. We would also appreciate any contributions of baked goods or plant starts you may want to send our way.

Money raised at this sale will go to help support our congregate and home delivered meal programs. As many people know, about half of the cost of our meals for each program is covered with funds from the California Department of Aging. We need to continuously raise money to supplement grant funds. The emphasis of the programs is to provide nutritional meals for seniors in Southern Humboldt. The meals are always available to seniors and, although we accept donations from participants, no one is ever refused a meal due to inability or unwillingness to contribute money to offset the cost.
