A new program that started this year in collaboration with the CalFresh program and the Humboldt County UC Cooperative Extension’s Master Preservers is a series of food preservation classes that meet monthly at the Mateel Community Center kitchen in Redway.

The next workshop on food preparation will be happening on Monday, May 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. Master preservers are teaching classes is canning, freezing and drying throughout the year with whatever the season’s harvest brings. Workshops will meet on May 12, June 16, August 18, September 15, October 20 and November 17.
