This spring afternoon-to-evening show will feature fine wines from local and regional vintners, fine art from artists of the North Coast region, live acoustic music all afternoon by Planet Four and George Mooney, and fine complimentary hors d'oeuvres from friends of the Mateel Community Center. The wine sampling is provided by top Southern Humboldt vintners: Briceland, Elk Prairie and Whitethorn vineyards.
A special highlight of the event is the impressive show upstairs of the young artists who participate in the Mateel after school art program, Spring Arts Collective, led by professional artists Margriet Seinen, Hunter Gilliam and musician Cathryn Guillette.
There are only a few spaces for local, professional-quality fine artists to participate. The show is open to all artistic media and each participant is allowed a maximum hanging space of two 4 x 8 panels or the equivalent table space. Though there is no cost to participate, the Mateel will collect a 20% commission on any piece sold during the event. Artists interested in displaying their work should contact artist coordinator Marjory Brown at 513-5566 or call the Mateel office at 923-3368.
