Join Youth Alive! at the Mateel Community Center on Friday, Jan. 31 for a free movie night with a screening of the classic sports film, Rudy. The 1993 movie is based on the inspiring true story about the life of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger who held on to his dreams of attending college and playing football at the University of Notre Dame in spite of obstacles along the way. Youth Alive! is combining forces with TRiO Talent Search to screen this as the next film of the NYA College Bound Film Series.

Eliot Baker, the assistant director of recreational athletics at Humboldt State University, will be there to share his insight on attending and playing for the school of your choice.

This event is free and open to everyone - students, parents, and community members are encouraged to come. The film is rated Parental Advisory, PG.

The doors open at 6 p.m. and the film starts at 6:30 p.m. For more details, or if you are interested in helping out at this event for community service hours, please contact the Youth Alive! coordinator at youthalivevolunteers@gmail.com.
