Ticks and tick-born diseases, a free lecture, will kick off the King Range Winter Lecture Series Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 7 p.m., at the Healy Senior Center, 456 Briceland Rd. in Redway.

This season’s free lectures, all offered on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the Healy Center, include:

o Wilderness photography, tricks and tips, Jan. 21.

o The rising seas, Feb. 4.

o Catching fire: a movie and discussion, Feb. 18.

o Where is all the tsunami debris?, March 4

o Sperm meets egg. Then what?, March 18

The lectures feature experts on the subject matters. They are offered each year by the Bureau of Land Management King Range National Conservation Area and the Lost Coast Interpretive Association.
