The Mateel Cooperative Art Gallery will be open for a reception in conjunction with the Soroptimist International of the Redwoods lighted holiday parade on Friday, Dec. 20. They will be celebrating the season, and showing off their skilled and beautiful arts while serving drinks and snacks until 8 p.m., after their normal business hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A door prize raffle will be drawn for those in attendance.

The Mateel Gallery is constantly changing as the artists explore and expand their skills and new members join. Currently, there is a selection of wall art; purses and bags; pottery; wooden bowls and other kitchen items; kitchen linens made from locally designed fabrics; cards and prints; and a large variety of jewelry styles and prices. More items are being added all the time as the artists continue to work.

The Mateel Gallery is a cooperative and its members work in the gallery each month as the staff. There are currently 13 member artists and a number of guest artists join the gallery each month. The gallery is located at 733 Redwood Drive and can be reached at 923-4895. Stop by during open hours, Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with some extra hours throughout the month of December, and find that special gift for that special someone.

The Mateel Art Cooperative Gallery will stay open late on Friday, Dec. 20.
