In addition to the Pledge Walk and Community Fair, this year’s event features the exciting addition of a “tough mudder” style obstacle course (minus the mud). The short but intense course is sure to test stamina and strength as participants traverse the shaded terrain of the redwoods over hay bale hurdles, a climbing wall, and other challenging obstacles. The course may be raced as a team or individually and is geared toward kids 10 and up and adults.
The community fair begins at noon with entertaining music by Cross Roads and area DJs. The fair also features local artisan vendors, delicious food by Fuego Authentica, Garberville Community Farm’s watermelons, pony rides, hay wagon rides, an obstacle course for younger children, a bounce house, and much more.
Pledge walk times are 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The obstacle course starts at noon.
There is a $10-$25 sliding scale or $40 for a family pass. Children under 5 are free. Event parking will be at the barn entrance off Sprowel Creek Road in Garberville.
Volunteers are needed. Call Carol at 223-5240.
