He’s played banjo in Latvia and played the bagpipes of a dozen countries on native soil. His one-man musical theater of the imagination blends folklore, true-life adventure, and the rare, soulful sounds of fiddle and pipes into a mesmerizing experience for listeners of all ages.
On Wednesday, Dec. 12 in Redway, Kevin Carr presents My Grandfather’s Fiddle - Stories for the Solstice. The house party will feature tunes and stories from Ireland, Quebec, Galicia, Scandinavia and other far off places. He’ll be playing various kinds of fiddles, Swedish pipes, Irish uilleann pipes, Scottish small pipes and the Galician Gaita. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
The house party will be at Steveaux and Nellie Millard’s tin shed in Redway. All donations will be appreciated. Turn left on the small road between Parkinson’s Lumber Yard and the Redway School campus. The tin shed is behind the wooden fence on the left.
