The Mateel Community Center’s board of directors met with concerned citizens two weeks ago, Monday, Nov. 5, to hear concerns from neighbors about how moving the festival back to French’s Camp will affect local businesses and residents. Among other problems, locals are anticipating issues with parking, unpermitted camping, and scheduling conflicts with the Gaia Festival - which is also scheduled to take place August 2-4 in Laytonville.

In order to address community concerns, the MCC board held another meeting in Piercy last night, Monday, Nov. 19 and their annual membership meeting will take place tonight - Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Mateel Community Center in Redway. That meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. with a community dinner for MCC members.
