Michele Palazzo is teaching a series of herb classes in November. All classes are at Beginnings in Briceland from noon to 4 p.m. and are on a sliding scale from $20 to $40.

-Herbal cooking: using food as medicine, Saturday, Nov. 3: Herbs are great to flavor foods, but they also act as healing agents. Learn to introduce nourishing herbs into your regular diet. We will experiment with a variety of recipes in this class and have lunch together.

-Respiratory health, Sunday, Nov. 11: The respiratory system gets overwhelmed easily. It is important to take good care so a little congestion doesn’t turn into something more serious. Learn to make a respiratory rub, herbal steams and healing teas, which will help to keep you breathing clearly.

-Creating herbal remedies, Saturday, Nov. 17: Learn how to make herbal remedies for yourself and as gifts for others. This class will provide discussion and hands-on plant work. The edible and medicinal qualities of the plants used in class will be covered. Participants will bring samples home.
