She is influenced by textile design, the connection between the physical and spiritual worlds, optical illusions, and the changing of the seasons. Using watercolor and acrylic paint, she combines collage and texture with abstract forms and patterns. "I also creates monotypes when I have access to a printing press. Each painting or print has multiple layers of color to heighten contrasts and create an inner glow. I am inspired by the forms and patterns in my garden, my family and my pets - bits and pieces of my everyday life combining themselves in unique forms."
Linnea has also worked with oil, pastel, collage, jewelry, and ceramics. She markets her work through galleries, art fairs, retail and wholesale shows. She lives in Arcata with her husband and daughter and is currently a member of Arcata Artisans, a cooperative gallery on the Arcata plaza. She has a BA from The Evergreen State College in Olympia WA, studied painting, art history and printmaking at The Aegean Center for the Fine Arts in Paros, Greece, and graphic design and ceramics at Humboldt State University.
