The first two Jesus Rocks the Redwoods were a great success thanks to the many supporting churches, businesses, and community members. We had an estimated 400-500 people in attendance and we expect this year’s 3rd Annual Jesus Rocks the Redwoods to be an even greater success.

We have a new venue, Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park, eight miles south of Garberville at 750 Hwy. 101, between the Richardson Grove State Park and Cooks Valley exits. With this new venue we have lots of trees, a covered stage that holds 200, and it has onsite accommodations. Please call (707) 247-3380 soon, if you would like to reserve a campsite.

This is a family event that will have great music, fun for the kids, skateboarding, and great food all day long from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There are still vendor spots available, but contact us soon if you think you are interested in one. One different aspect of this music festival event is that there is no entry fee. That’s right, the entry is free. It is hard to believe that in this day and age anything is free, but this one is. So get in your car and drive to Richardson Grove Campground & RV Park for a great day Saturday, July 28.

We have a full day of gifted artists from all over the west coast. We have 10 full sets and there are many more acts in between them to bless you as we rock the redwoods with rock.

Opening up the event we have Redwood Teen Challenge Choir. You will be able to hear live our very own Humboldt County’s rock and blues artist Sound Doctrine Band, The Ambassadors, and rap artist Supernaturally Blessed who also calls Humboldt County home. They will be joined by rock-and-roll artist Zion Music Project from Mendocino County. We will also be blessed by alternative rock artists Jacob Thomas and Intersection, both from the Central Valley area.

We are welcoming back Suede Perez from Chico. Hailing from Klamath Falls and new to Jesus Rocks the Redwoods is rock artist Mournings End and rock artists No Descension from Redding and Remnant Band from Lakeport.

And that is not all. Filling in during sets will be Remnant Band from Redding, Mountain Mercy Mission, and our gifted MC Pastor Kevin Webb from Oregon, and much more. Music will start at 10 a.m. and you won’t want to miss the opening sets.

We now have skateboarding. We will have a mobile half-pipe and some rails and two quarter pipes to skate on. They are working on a new ramp to bring down and hope to have it completed by the time of the event. This is sponsored by The Church on the Rock and McKinleyville Skatepark Organization. So bring your youth and their friends.

Please carpool to avoid traffic congestion. Bring a chair and a friend with you. While the entry is free there will be some great food, children’s ministries, and several booths with T-shirts, books, jewelry, CD’s, and stuff you will not want to miss so bring a little money.

Lastly this is a free ministry and your donations and support will help keep it free for years to come. Check us out at the Jesus Rocks The Redwoods Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jesus-Rocks-The-Redwoods/281858285899 for more information.
