Marin County native, Del Van Dyke is the featured comedian this month. Van Dyke began his career in comedy in 1984 after finishing college. He sharpened his skills in the booming ‘80s San Francisco comedy scene, he says, by working “every club that had a microphone.”
In addition to working the club circuit, his hilarious takes on everyday life’s little dramas earned Van Dyke first place in the Northern California, Inland Empire, and Alameda County Comedy Competitions. He was also a semi-finalist in the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition. Opening for Van Dyke this Friday will be Brazilian-born comedian, Johnny Eller, and hilarious newcomer, Emma Haney.
Doors open at 8 p.m. with comedy at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door and the show is recommended for those 18 and over. Limited table seating is available with a two-drink minimum. Cocktails, beer, wine, snack foods, desserts, and refreshments will be on hand.
Whether you make it a night out with friends or a date with your main squeeze, don’t miss what is sure to be a side splitting evening with Del Van Dyke, Johnny Eller and Emma Haney at the Mateel Comedy Cabaret this Friday, March 9. For more information, call 923-3368 or visit www.mateel.org.
