If you’re between the ages of 8 to 22 and dream of becoming the next Cameron Crow or Steven Spielberg, The Young Media Makers can help make your dreams come true. Enter your short movie in The Young Media Makers 10th annual Big Screen Showcase.

All winners from the Big Screen Showcase are automatically entered into the Youth Division of the Chicago International Film Festival as well as being played on Access Humboldt.

At the post-screening reception, media makers will be able to talk with professionals and other filmmakers about future ideas.

Young media makers can get more information about how to produce and edit digital video programs by contacting the director, Barbara Domanchuk.

All movies must be submitted by March 19 to be eligible for selection. Categories include: animation, comedy, fiction, documentary and experimental.

A previous winner, Anna Dobos, received a $40,000 scholarship from the Chicago International Film Festival to the Interlochen School of Media Arts for her digital, stop-action film titled “Imagine.”

Some other previous winners included “Drive To Stay Alive” by Mathew Roscoe and David Loring, “Food For People” by Dominick Roney, and “Best Friends On Cell Phones” by August Domanchuk.

Entries should be submitted on a mini DV or DVD and can be no longer then 10 minutes in length. All entries should be made online. Your media should be labeled and mailed with the release form to: the Young Media Makers Big Screen Showcase, PO Box 204, Carlotta, CA 95528.
