Hospice’s annual beginning of summer party, which features tasting of beers from local micro-breweries, barbeque and silent auction, is moving to the Greycliff Acres rodeo grounds in Benbow this year. Lack of permitting from the county to hold this annual event in its traditional setting, the Community Park, is not going to hold back the irrepressible Flaming Chefs from producing their usual delicious tri-tip or marinated tofu feast, and the event will, as usual, present lively local country music, this year by Way Out West and the Bucky Walters Band.
The rodeo grounds, an easy 10-minute drive from Garberville, offers a spacious grassy area with picnic tables (canopied for the event) and large trees shading food and bandstand. Save the date, Saturday, July 11, bring the family, and enjoy the food, music and fun at the Brew, Barbeque and Auction with your neighbors. Music and food start at 4 p.m. For more information, call Hospice at 923-7276.
