Dennis Mayo, left, and John Finley plowed one of the fields at the Southern Humboldt Community Farm last week with the help of two friends. Debbi, a chestnut Belgian mare, and Coda, a grey Percheron gelding, have been living at the farm for a couple of years. John said it is a lot of fun to work with them. He hopes to plant peppers, eggplant and melons in the upper fields this year. The farm also has fresh eggs for sale all year round. You can stop by the farmhouse and pick some up for $5 a dozen or purchase them at the farmers market in a couple of months.
