The California Highway Patrol arrested 31-year-old Daniel Joseph McDonald, of Garberville, after he allegedly evaded arrest in a stolen SUV.

Officers noticed the Toyota 4-Runner’s broken window when McDonald was driving through town and initiated a traffic stop at roughly 4 a.m. after he ran a stop sign. McDonald then led officers on a chase up Alderpoint Road. He later went off the roadway after turning onto Flint Rock Road.

As of deadline, the CHP’s report on this incident has not yet been completed and details are still hazy. Officers were unable to say if McDonald sustained any injuries when the SUV left the roadway, or if he had prior arrests. The Redwood Times hopes to have more information in next week’s edition.
