Jeff grew up in Palos Verdes Estates, California. He graduated from Palos Verdes High School in 1975. After high school he traveled around surfing before becoming a longtime resident of Humboldt County in the early ‘80s. He enjoyed surfing, hiking, camping, traveling, going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, and anything to do with the outdoors.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Shevon Sumrall (Chris Olson) of Miranda, California; stepsons, Chris (Tracy) Ahart of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Joaquin Courtermanche of Shelter Cove, California; and Rangler (Saundra) Haskell of Garberville California; his brothers, Mark Sumrall (Brita McGee) of Palos Verdes Estates, California and Rick (Cathy) Sumrall of Los Alamitos, California; grandchildren, Tatiana and Elaina Olson, Cody, Tristan, and Krystiana Ahart, Acacia Courtemanche and Kendra Jones, and Maylea and Kaden Haskell; his niece, Sarah Sumrall; and all of his close friends that he considered family.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Gladys Sumrall.
We would like to invite close friends and family to a Celebration of Life, on March 24, 2013 at noon at the Mateel Community Center in Redway. It will also be a potluck.
