On Sunday, Feb. 24 at approximately 9:30 a.m. a K9 deputy with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 299 near Moon Lee Rest Area in Douglas City for a traffic infraction.
During the stop the deputy’s K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 17 pounds of processed marijuana and $1,039 in U.S. currency.
The three occupants of the vehicle, all Utah residents, were arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana. All three were from Utah and were transported to the Trinity County Jail where bail was set at $30,000.
The suspects were identified as Joshua Haycock, age 26; Whitney Haycock, age 23; and Justin Gosdis, age 34.
