They strongly believe in keeping the enrichment programs like music and performing arts alive in Southern Humboldt Schools.
The first fundraiser of this year is the annual membership drive. As a parent your membership letter was sent home with your child or with the student’s report cards at South Fork High School. Valued community members of SOS should have received the membership letter through the mail.
SOS appreciates your donation, no matter how large or small, and encourage you to please send in your donation in the remit envelope enclosed with the letter. The foundation depends on these donations in order to sustain enrichment programs and electives at our schools.
If you’d like to make a donation to SOS and didn’t receive anything you can mail your tax-deductible donation to P.O Box 650, Miranda, CA 95553 or make a direct deposit to the Community Credit Union in Garberville, account #7835.
SOS thanks you for supporting the children throughout the community. The next fundraiser this year will be a St. Patrick’s Day dinner at the Garberville fire hall on Sunday, March 17 starting at 3 p.m.
The students from the local schools will be performing music, while you enjoy a delicious corn beef and cabbage meal. You can also just stop by for your to-go St. Patty’s Day dinner.
This spring please look forward to their new, large fundraiser (which will be replacing the annual Mardi Gras event) a Cinco de Mayo dinner, dance and raffle on Saturday, May 4 at the Mateel Community Center. This will be a festive event offering a Mexican menu and a fun atmosphere. More details will follow in the springtime.
SOS looks forward to your support at these upcoming spring events and sincerely thanks you for your donation to the SOS foundation.
