A male passenger in the PT Cruiser got out of the car, approached the deputies and told them he had just been stabbed and needed help. He showed the deputies a fresh stab wound in his back. Deputies began first aid while summoning medical aid immediately to the scene.
The victim is a 50-year-old man who is a McKinleyville resident. He told the deputies he had been stabbed about 45 minutes earlier when he was at a residence in the 1100 block of Forson Road, McKinleyville to pickup his bike that he had loaned to a friend.
He said that when he arrived at the residence, a female allowed him inside to speak with his friend who lived there. In the home all the lights were out so he could not see. He walked into the garage, which also had no lighting and was pitch black. Suddenly he was struck in the back so hard it knocked him over.
He did not see who struck him.
The victim ran out of the garage into the backyard and did not realize that he had been stabbed until two males who were outside the home told him he was bleeding from his back.
After the victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance, deputies went to the residence where the stabbing occurred and spoke with several people who denied knowing what happened or seeing anything. The case is still under investigation.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
